Concord Chamber Orchestra - Child's Play Concert - 7 pm on October 24, 2105 at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church
Join the CCO for the first concert of our 40th Anniversary 2015-16 season, Music to Our Years. Featuring Julian Rhee, violinist.
On Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 7:00 pm, the Concord Chamber Orchestra (CCO) will present the first concert of its 2015-16 Season “Music to Our Years: A Retrospective” at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa. The Child’s Play concert kicks off the CCO’s 40th anniversary season, in which each of the four concerts will feature audience and musician favorites from each of the orchestra’s first four decades.
About the CCO’s 40th season, Music Director Jamin Hoffman writes:
“Initially, I had two ideas when selecting music for our 40th Anniversary Season: looking back at the growth of the orchestra (both physically and musically) over that time, and getting input from musicians and audience members about their favorite pieces. I was trying to decide between these two ideas when I realized that I didn’t have to choose -- I could use both!

I reviewed the survey results of favorite pieces that the musicians and audience members had sent to me, and then went back into the archives to find pieces that the orchestra had played before and were also on the list of favorites. Tying each of our four concerts to a specific decade in the orchestra’s existence also made sense to me, and provided a framework for deciding which pieces fit best on which concert.
I’m excited to honor Concord’s 40th season by paying tribute to our past, and I thank you for your support as we look toward our future. Come celebrate with us this season!”
