Concord Chamber Orchestra - Chrysalis Concert March 12, 2016 at 7 pm

Concert at St. Matthew's features pianist Gregory Hartmann, winner of the 2016 Walter A. and Dorothy J. Oestreich Concerto Competition

On Saturday, March 12, 2106 at 7:00 pm, the Concord Chamber Orchestra (CCO) will present the third concert of its 2015-16 Season “Music to Our Years: A Retrospective” at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa. The Chrysalis concert continues the CCO’s 40th anniversary season theme, in which each of the four concerts features audience and musician favorites from each of the orchestra’s first four decades.

Chrysalis on March 12 celebrates Concord’s third decade under the baton of conductor Janet Millard, who helped transform the CCO into a more flexible orchestra by branching out into music from more exotic locales and striving for greater musicality. The concert will feature pianist Gregory Hartmann, the winner of the 2016 Walter A. and Dorothy J. Oestreich Concerto Competition. The program for the evening includes:

Estampas Mexicanas • Elizondo
Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-Flat Major • Liszt
Adagio for Strings • Barber
Symphony No. 40 in G minor, KV. 550 • Mozart
