Police say they saw a black handgun in plain view on the passenger seat.
Police say the man owned the car and had a valid conceal carry permit, but also conducted a vehicle search based on the apparent smell of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle's cabin.
According to the complaint, police found a partially-smoked marijuana cigarette under the driver's seat and a second in the rear pocket of the driver's seat, the complaint said.
Police say it wasn't until they got to the police station that they found the rest. During a procedural secondary search of Edwards upon arrival at the booking room, an officer felt a concealed object in the man's groin area.
Edwards admitted it was marijuana in his underwear and retrieved it for the officer, the complaint said. The marijuana was contained in 12 corner cut plastic bags, and weighed a total of 6.07 grams, the complaint said.
