Drive-Thru Burglars Busted While Wearing Burglary Clothes
A couple accused of burglarizing businesses through their drive-through windows were arrested after police saw them wearing the same clothes

WAUWATOSA, WI — A couple that burglarized the Wauwatosa Taco Bell, Dairy Queen and BMO Harris Bank were caught by police after they saw the couple walking down the street in the same clothes they were seen on surveillance footage.
Damarius Wade and Jala Wright, both 17, of Milwaukee, have been charged with three counts of burglary for their apparent roles in the three incidents reported in Wauwatosa in the early morning hours of Aug. 20.
According to their criminal complaint, it all started just before 3 a.m. when the couple decided to burglarize the Taco Bell on the 5600 block of North Ave. At 2:40 a.m., Wade and Wright pried the drive-through window open, and searched the cash registers, walking off with about $225.

According to the criminal complaint, just after 3 a.m. on Aug. 20, the two burglarized the Dairy Queen on the 6500 block of North Ave. According to police, Wright acted as a lookout as Wade pried the drive-thru window open and used a metal pipe to open the broken window. They entered the Dairy Queen through the drive-thru window. They tried desparately to pry cash registers open, only to find a total of $6 in pennies.
Their third burglary of the evening took place at the BMO Harris Bank on the 7500 block of North Ave. According to the criminal complaint, the side door of the bank had been pried open just after 4:30 a.m. Police say Wade and Wright attempted to open several registers behind the counter as well as the bank vault, but were unsuccessful.

Police spotted Wade and Wright walking on the 7500 block of W. North Ave. wearing the same clothes that they were observed wearing in surveillance footage during their early foray into closed Wauwatosa businesses, according to their criminal complaint.
Police even noted that Wright was wearing a pair of latex gloves at the time she was arrested that was used in the burglaries.
