“Beyond 9/11: From Tragedy to Transformation”

Mount Mary College will mark the 10-year anniversary of 9/11 with signature events that highlight the impact of transforming injustice and anger into compassionate action and outreach that promotes peace. "Beyond 9/11: From Tragedy to Transformation" will feature Susan Retik, one of the women profiled in the Documentary "Beyond Belief", speaking at a luncheon on September 22, 2011 at the Pfister Hotel. Retik co-founded Beyond the 11th, a nonprofit organization that provides support to widows in Afghanistan who have been afflicted by war, terrorism, and oppression. Retik received the Presidential Citizens Medal in 2010 for her heroic efforts in improving the lives of thousands. In her first-ever Milwaukee appearance Retik will share her inspirational story and urge others to use their talents to transform the world, whether around the corner or around the globe/ Tickets are $50 per person.
