Former Milwaukee Police Officer Threatens Mayor - is Arrested With Cocaine and an Axe

The incident started after Gilberto Collado, 48, reportedly went to City Hall on Aug. 18 related to a recent DUI arrest.

MILWAUKEE -- A former Milwaukee police officer was arrested with cocaine and an axe - and also threatening the mayor while at City Hall.

The incident started after Gilberto Collado, 48, reportedly went to City Hall on Aug. 18 related to a recent DUI arrest.

According to a report by FOX 6, as Collado spoke with a city employee while at City Hall, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett walked by with his security detail, and, according to the worker's statement to investigators, Collado said "if they try anything, I'll beat them with a gun. I have a gun in my bag," in reference to Mayor Barrett and his security.

According to the report, Collado was arrested outside the Chase Bank near the corner of Wisconsin and Water while carrying a bag.

Officers confiscated his bag. Inside the bag, police reportedly .24 grams of cocaine located in a clear plastic bag, and a camp axe. Police did not locate a firearm.

He has been charged with disorderly conduct and possession of cocaine - both misdemeanor charges.
