What: Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers will kick off a celebration to mark the official grand opening of the new Kathy’s House near the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Wauwatosa campus. Kathy’s House has provided affordable lodging and caring support to about 1,500 people annually who need to stay in Milwaukee for medical care.
Why: The event celebrates the donors, guests, staff, construction workers and other supporters who made the new 36-room House possible. With twice the capacity and many more amenities than the previous location, Kathy’s House can better meet the growing demand for its services. This “home away from home” is a critical link in the healthcare supply chain, represented by president & CEO Patty Metropulos on the Governor’s Health Equity Council.
