Some ideas to celebrate more safely:
- Hold virtual costume contests and parties
- Increase what you do at home to celebrate. Decorate where you live. Bake Halloween-themed treats. Watch scary movies with your family.
- If your neighborhood group hosts trick-or-treating, do it more safely. Leave individual grab bags or paper cups outside your door for kids to take. Watch and wave through a window.
- Instead of a close contact event in a confined space, visit or create a drive-through haunted house experience.
Other tips:
- Stay local. Avoid the urge to attend events in other towns, as it can lead to the greater spread of the virus.
- Think before you go. Assess what's best for you and your family when it comes to celebrating this year.
- Get vaccinated against the flu. Consider getting the flu vaccine before Halloween.
Neighborhood Associations
Some neighborhood associations may be hosting their own Halloween event. Your neighborhood association might email or mail you details of when they are hosting trick or treat. Ask your neighborhood association for details.
