Homeless Man Enters Secure Psych Hospital, Steals Xbox
A homeless man has been charged with burglary after police say he entered a psychiatric hospital and stole an Xbox.
WAUWATOSA, WI — A homeless man has been charged with burglary after police say he entered a secure psychiatric hospital and stole an Xbox.
According to Wauwatosa police, they were dispatched to the Aurora Psychiatric Hospital on June 13, Aaron Liberty entered the Aurora Psychiatric Hospital's building eight, a secured building with restricted access and where no one but key card holders are allowed, and stole an Xbox video game system, six games, and a controller.
Liberty's criminal complaint stated he placed the stolen items into his backpack and walked out of building eight without the consent of the hospital to take said items.

The following day, his criminal complaint stated he again came to the Hospital, whereupon he was arrested for the burglary of Building Eight.
In a statement made following his arrest, Liberty admitted he went to the Hospital looking for cigarette butts, as he is homeless and has no money. He entered Building Eight and stole laundry detergent as well as the XBox gaming system, games, and controller. He admitted he took the stolen electronic items to Record Head Store in the area of North 70th Street and West Greenfield Avenue in West Allis and sold the stolen electronics for cash, his criminal complaint stated.
