How Are People Selected To Serve On Citizen Boards In Wauwatosa?

The City of Wauwatosa has about 30 committees, commissions, and boards that provide input to the City Council and help enhance Wauwatosa. Public involvement is crucial to our decision-making process and is a valued part of our government. By bringing new ideas to the table and representing all of the diverse elements of our community, members of our boards, commissions, and committees help us make informed decisions.

In the first six months of 2021, we will have appointments available on the following boards:
- Board of Parks and Forestry (1)
- Board of Review (2)
- Committee for Citizens with Disabilities (5)
- Community Development Block Grant (4)
- Senior Commission (4)
- Sustainability Committee (2)
- Tourism Commission (2)
- Youth Commission (3)
The people currently in these seats may express a desire to continue in their role. Other people may express interest in serving on those seats and would be considered for appointment. The Mayor is responsible for appointing and/or re-appointing citizen members to serve on boards. All appointments are confirmed by the Common Council.
