Local Artist's Work Featured at Boerner Botanical Gardens in May

Michael Andrysczyk's work reveals his fondness for the North Woods, nature.

HALES CORNERS β€” Michael Andrysczyk’s intricate pen and ink drawings depicting scenes of the North Woods will be on view in the Garden House of the Boerner Botanical Gardens at 9400 Boerner Drive, in Whitnall Park beginning in May.

According to a news release issued by the Milwaukee County Parks department, Andrysczyk, a member of the League of Milwaukee Artists and the Wauwatosa Artists Workshop, began working in pen and ink out of necessity. In the 1970s, he owned a print shop, and to be competitive, he needed to do his own artwork. Years passed since his shop closed, but he continued to pursue his love of drawing.

Andrysczyk’s work will be on display in the Garden House from 8 a.m.–6 p.m., seven days a week. The Botanical Gardens are open daily until dusk.

Admission to the Botanical Gardens, which includes admission to the Garden House, is $5.50 for adults age 18 and up; $4.50 for students of any age with IDs, Milwaukee County seniors age 60 and up with IDs, and people with disabilities; and $3.50 for youths age 6-17.

For more information, call the Botanical Gardens at (414) 525-5601.
