Earlier on April 24, Crittendon was reportedly visiting friends at a birthday party held in front of a residence on 28th Street in Milwaukee, when the stolen white BMW SUV pulled up.

The complaint states that the SUV pulled up in fron of the house with Piltcher in the rear passenger seat. Crittendon stepped off the curb and walked toward the passenger side of the SUV when Piltcher reportedly asked "Who is this dude?"

The complaint states that moments later, Piltcher pulled out his handgun and shot Crittendown two times before the driver of the SUV hurriedly left the scene.

The driver reportedly fled toward the Teutonia and Thurston area before driving to a fast food restaurant "in midtown," before Piltcher was dropped off at his mother's house near 38th and Florist.

The Investigation

According to his criminal complaint, on May 4, investigating officers recovered a white BMW SUV parked behind 5909 N. Teutonia Avenue. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Wauwatosa.

A search of the BMW revealed that the surfaces inside the passenger compartment had been wiped down. A bottle of bleach was recovered from the vehicle, police said.

According to the criminal complaint, underneath the rear seat floor mat on the passenger’s side, investigating officers recovered a spent 9mm shell casing. Microscopic examination of the casing recovered from the stolen BMW revealed that it was fired from the same firearm as the casing recovered from the above location where the homicide occurred.
