Naked Man Shot 7 Times, Lives To Tell About It

The victim told police a 22-year-old Milwaukee man "just kept" shooting in his assassination attempt. He struggled to a neighbor for help.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Authorities say a naked man was shot seven times by a 22-year-old suspect, and lived to tell about it.

Lamont Wallace, 22, of the 7000 block of West Silver Spring Drive, has been charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and could face up to 40 years behind bars if he is convicted.

According to Wallace's criminal complaint filed this week in Milwaukee County circuit court, on the evening of Aug. 17, police were called to investigate a shooting on the 8800 block of W. Douglas Ave. in Milwaukee.

Police arrived at Froedtert hospital to interview the shooting victim, who told police that a man named "Boo" shot him. The man was injured to the point that he had to communicate by writing to the officer.

According to the criminal complaint, on the evening of Aug. 17, the shooting victim struggled to his neighbor's front door, naked, indicating that he had been shot.

When the victim was met by police, he stated he was having trouble breathing due to seven gunshot wounds and that the suspect, later identified as Wallace, "tried to assassinate me point blank," and "he just kept shooting," according to dialogue reported in the criminal complaint.

When detectives showed the victim a photo lineup, he reportedly picked out Wallace's photo and was 100 percent sure that he was the suspect, his criminal complaint stated.

Wallace is being held in the Milwaukee County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
