Nashotah House Theological Seminary Offers 'Conflict Management & Reconciliation'

Nashotah House Theological Seminary located at 2777 Mission Road, Nashotah, WI 53058 invites you, your church, or your organization to register today for ‘Conflict Management & Reconciliation’ Symposium with David Lee Jones, ThD and Peter Steinke, ThD.

Authors and lecturers David Lee Jones and Peter Steinke have learned several things about conflict management and reconciliation in their many combined years of experience as pastors, therapists, seminary instructors, and church consultants.

Beginning Friday morning, February 27 at 10 a.m. and concluding Saturday, February 28 at 3 p.m., the award-winning speakers will discuss Conflict Management & Reconciliation. Topics will include the effect that conflict has on faith communities. Drs. Jones and Steinke will delve into the themes of engaging Scripture in conversation about spiritual practices of reconciliation, as well as practical tips and case studies on how to manage conflict effectively and how to successfully learn from it. Participants will engage in daily worship at Nashotah House’s historic Chapel of St. Mary the Virgin, they will share meals, enjoy both formal and informal discussion, and plenary sessions while working in collaborative groups among participants.

Motivating, energizing, and life-giving, the symposium will prove to be a benefit to all attendees, whether registered student or guest attendee. The Winter Symposium is hosted by Nashotah House Theological Seminary and the Ambrose Institute. The Ambrose Institute invites ministry leaders to Nashotah House for formation and training among fellow clergy and lay leaders together as a team. The goal of the Ambrose Institute is to allow for organizational transformation and the revitalization of parishes by strengthening the lives of their leaders.

David Lee Jones, ThD, is an ordained Presbyterian minister who earned his Master’s of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, concentrating in New Testament. From 2003 to 2012 he directed Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary’s Doctor of Ministry Program. He served a two year term as President of the Association for Doctor of Ministry Education, and in 2008 he received that organization’s highest award: The Outstanding Leadership Award in Doctor of Ministry Education.

Peter L. Steinke, ThD, is a Lutheran pastor and serves nationwide as a church consultant. For more than 12 years he served as Director of Clergy Care for Lutheran Social Services of the South in Austin, Texas. He is the developer of Bridgebuilder Ministry, a training program for working with churches in trouble, and the Healthy Congregation, a training program for lay leaders in congregations. Dr. Steinke is the author of Healthy Congregations: A Systems Approach (2006) and Congregational Leadership in Anxious Times: Being Calm and Courageous No Matter What (2006).
