Next Steps In Hiring The Wauwatosa Police Chief

The Wauwatosa Police and Fire Commission met to discuss the next steps for hiring a police chief.

During their meeting, the commission heard a presentation from a team of consultants (Center for Public Safety Management and Human Resources Research Organization) about a structured process to consider for resume screening, phone screening, assessments, public involvement, and other factors. Members of the Police and Fire Commission will work with the consultants to define each step of the hiring process.

The Police and Fire Commission plans to meet next on February 17.

Under Wisconsin State Law, the hiring of a police chief is the under the sole direction of the Wauwatosa Police and Fire Commission, a citizen-led commission.
