Police Arrest Drunk Driver 3 Times The Legal Limit; 13 Others Over Weekend

Sheriff's deputies arrested 15 drunk drivers with an average blood alcohol concentration of 0.12 were arrested this weekend.

Milwaukee, WI – A 52-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after the man registered a .24 BAC - three times the legal limit in Wisconsin.

Bernard Roberson, age 52, of Milwaukee, was outside of his disabled vehicle on I-43 northbound near W. National Avenue.

A deputy noted empty beer bottles in the bed of the pick-up truck, and Roberson performed poorly on field sobriety tests, with a PBT of .24. He was arrested for DUI-7th, and for Operating While Revoked for DUI.

The DUI-7th is a Class G felony, carrying a maximum prison sentence of 10 years, if convicted. His past convictions occurred in November 1990, September 1992, April 1996, March 1998, January 2001, and May 2009.

Overall, 14 drunk drivers with an average blood alcohol concentration of 0.12 were arrested this weekend after during this weekend’s Operation Drive Sober initiative, from Friday at 4:00 p.m. through Sunday at 6:00 a.m.

Three repeat offenders were arrested: Bernard Roberson, age 52, of Milwaukee for DUI-7th; Marvin McDowell, age 44, of Milwaukee; and Joseph Mattioli, age 50, of Fitchburg, both for DUI-2nd.

First-time offenders taken into custody were:

Milwaukee residents Brendan Harrell, age 26; Ngoc Lel, age 25; Robert Bratcher, age 25; Shane Gasparich, age 26; Janalle Goosby, age 24; Tanner Wall, age 22; and Charisse Giangreco, age 39.

Also, Katherine Fredricks, age 26, of Elm Grove; Jessica Tryba, age 28, of Caledonia; Brianna Reese, age 27,of West Milwaukee; and Leo Maney, age 54, of New Berlin.
