Wauwatosa police reports: Severe damage was done to a homeowner's van when burglars tried making off with it. A drunk driver was arrested.

An intoxicated driver was taken into custody just before 2 a.m. on June 24 near the 200 block of N. 68th St. the driver of the white 2012 Honda Civic Ex Coupe was cited for OWI-1st after registering a 0.17 blood alcohol concentration.

On Saturday, June 24, between 4:40 a.m. and 5:27 a.m., an unknown suspect attempted to steal a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan that was parked in the alley of the 2300 block of N. 64th St. According to reports, during the attempted vehicle theft, the suspects pried the driver's side window open, destroyed the vehicle's ignition and damaged the passenger-side door while attempting to steal the vehicle. The damage to the vehicle was estimated to be about $1,000.
