WAUWATOSA — The family of Anna Horejs needs your help.
Last November, Anna was involved in a horrific car accident. She was struck head on at highway speed by a wrong way elderly driver on Highway 10 near Waupaca.
Anna received life threatening injuries and was taken by flight for life to the nearest trauma hospital - Theda Clark in Neenah. Anna was in ICU for over a week and required three major surgeries totaling more than 20 hours in her first five days in the hospital. These surgeries were required to repair all of the damage done in the accident.

There will be a fundraiser this Sunday at Cranky Al's 6901 W. North Ave. to help her family cover all of the medical bills that have not been covered by insurance.
Go to her family's Go Fund Me page to make a contribution and help them reach their goal. More importantly, come out Sunday to connect with the family, friends and loved ones.
According to an article published in Wauwatosa NOW, Anna is now settled in at home and is continuing her recovery. Horejs told Wauwatosa NOW that she finds motivation to keep pushing forward in the people surrounding her.

"I want to prove to myself and prove to doctors that I can do it and that I can keep going," said Horejs, who was in the middle of a painting project during her interview with Now Newspapers. "I knew it was a long road ahead of me. It's setting the goals, and once you hit them, even the little goals, you kind of thrive."
The family's journal entry this month paints a picture of how she's doing on her road to recovery including the highlights and pains along the way:
Another week and more accomplishments for Anna on her road to recovery. Early in the week she was very sore from all the Senior Ball festivities last weekend. The good thing is that she recovered/rebounded much faster than she has in the past. Great evidence that her strength and stamina are improving.
Here she is at an awards ceremony recently:
