Wauwatosa is partnering with Community First to enhance the quality of life for homeowners by addressing repairs such as roofing, plumbing, painting, electrical, and HVAC issues.

Qualifications

You must have owned the home for at least five years and meet other eligibility criteria including but not limited to:

  • Property must be owner occupied and a single family or duplex
  • Homeowner must have homeowners insurance
  • Not in bankruptcy
  • Meet income guidelines:

What is the application process?

  1. Call (414) 409-7195 to apply
  2. Screening process begins and if applicant qualifies, we make arrangements to deliver application and supporting documents
  3. Return completed application with income information and all documents to submit
  4. If approved, a Community First representative will contact homeowner to inspect the property
  5. Staff will write a scope of work and will select a contractor
  6. Work will commence shortly thereafter. Home repair projects usually take between 1-3 months to be completed

What documents do I need to submit?

  • Completed Community First Application
  • Proof of Income for last 3 months for ALL household members (Including but not limited to prior year’s tax returns)
  • Proof of Homeowner’s Insurance
  • Mortgage Satisfaction document or statement showing mortgage is current
  • Proof of Paid Property Taxes or Taxes being paid on a current installment plan
  • Most recent Utility and Water bills
