Wauwatosa Native Steve Berger Dies in Las Vegas Shooting
After 48 hours, the family of Wauwatosa native Steve Berger learned the horrible news: their only son died in the Las Vegas shooting.

WAUWATOSA, WI — A Wauwatosa native is among those who lost their lives in Sunday's horrific Las Vegas mass shooting.
According to WTMJ.com, Steve Berger was attending the Jason Aldean performance during the Rt. 91 Harvest Festival in celebration of his 44th birthday when the crowd he was in was sprayed with gunfire from above.

According to a KARE report, his parents Richard and Mary Berger learned the terrible news from the coroner's office on Tuesday afternoon after nearly 48 hours of not knowing the fate of their son. Mary said Steve was "fun-loving with a serious side and a hard worker."

Steve Berger, was financial adviser with EFS Advisors in the Twin Cities. He was the father of three children: 8, 11 and 15.
According to a Minneapolis Star-Tribune report, Steve Berger's friends informed his family that he had been shot. “He went down,” Steve Berger’s father said to the Star-Tribune. Everyone was running, trying to escape the barrage of bullets. “[His friends] were told to get moving. They had to go. Everyone had to go. They left him on the ground.”
