Wauwatosa 'Parking Jeep' Gets Dazzling New Look

The parking jeep now looks like a bumblebee, or a vehicle clad one of those old-time football uniforms - but that's the point.

WAUWATOSA, WI — It looks like a bumblebee, or a vehicle clad one of those old-time football uniforms - but that's the point.

Wauwatosa police unveiled a new, and much more visible parking Jeep with a new graphics package aimed at increasing its visibility on the streets of Wauwatosa.

According to officials, "this higher visibility is one small part of the City’s overall effort to address problematic parking issues. Increasing the ‘noticeability factor’ can make would-be parking violators more aware of enforcement efforts, thus acting as a deterrent just by its presence."

Officials say the higher visibility will also help increase the safety of the Parking Specialists who walk in traffic-laden areas throughout the day.
