Wauwatosa School District Sues WIAA in Court Over Conference Realignment Plan
District officials feel Wauwatosa East and West High Schools are left in worse positions after the changes they passed in April.

WAUWATOSA -- The Wauwatosa School Board has filed an injunction against the WIAA in Milwaukee County Circuit court, over the WIAA's controversial conference realignment plan.
According to a report by Wauwatosa NOW, district officials felt Wauwatosa was among the districts seeking relief from the current conference alignment in the first place, but Tosa feels its two high schools (West and East) are left in even worse positions following the changes.

After nearly two years of negotiations - at times heated - the WIAA approved a sweeping high school conference realignment set to take place in the 2017-18 school year.
Wauwatosa hoped to be placed in one conference, only to be placed in another. Read below to see how the realignment affects both 'Tosa East and West.

According to an article by the Journal Sentinel, that vote was angst-ridden and passed by a 7-4 margin after an appeal hearing of nearly 90 minutes.
The vote may be final, however the WIAA board gave affected schools the chance to submit an alternative plan if the plan had support from all the other affected schools.
Wauwatosa East/West (Greater Metro/Woodland): Hoped to be placed together in the Woodland, but will play in the GMC instead.
