WAUWATOSA, WI — Wauwatosa residents saw a 1.6 percent net tax rate increase between 2015 and 2016 according to village officials. Here is how the average city resident's tax bill broke down into its component parts. Each figure represents the dollar value levied against $1,000 of assessed value.

Tax Bills Due May 31
Taxpayers have until May 31 to make their final 2016 tax bill payment. Taxpayers must have paid the full balance of the bill by this date. If the final payment is not made by this date, the entire remaining property tax balance is considered delinquent and is subject to interest and penalty retroactive to February 1, 2017.

In addition to web payments, taxpayers can also mail payments using the return envelope in the billing envelope or can drop off payments at the 24-hour night depository at City Hall - however, they should print a copy of the bill from the web portal to include with payment.
