Wauwatosa Youth Commission Seeking New Youth and Adult Members

Wauwatosa Youth Commission volunteers needed

The Wauwatosa Youth Commission is currently recruiting new youth and adult members from diverse backgrounds to serve 2-3 year terms on the current Wauwatosa Youth Commission. The Wauwatosa Youth Commission serves as an advisory body to the Common Council and the office of the Mayor of Wauwatosa. Commission members have an opportunity to provide comment and recommendations on policies and ordinances that affect the youth of Wauwatosa as well as the opportunity to encourage, develop and implement activities and services that promote a positive environment for young people in the community of Wauwatosa.

Youth members must be a resident of Wauwatosa between the ages of 13 and 18 years old and should demonstrate an interest in matters affecting youth, community affairs, and leadership skills.

Adult volunteers must live in Wauwatosa and should demonstrate an interest in guiding and mentoring youth members as well as an interest in making Wauwatosa a great community for young people.

More information about the WYC is available on the City of Wauwatosa website. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month September through May.
