What To Know About Wauwatosa's Yard Waste Collection

Every spring through fall, the Wauwatosa collects brush, branches, and other plant material. Here's what to know.

Every spring through fall, we collect brush, branches, and other plant material as part of our yard waste collection, which began on April 10, and will continue through October 6, 2023. Yard waste is collected every other week on the opposite week from your recycling collection.

Remember that you cannot include the following materials:

  • grass clippings
  • dirt or soil, other than residual from pulled plants
  • sod
  • root balls
  • vegetables
  • stumps
  • branches over 6 inches in diameter
  • bundles of branches that are longer than 4 feet or heavier than 50 pounds
  • yard waste in plastic bags
  • more than 10 bags or bundles of yard waste on collection day
