Workshop Looks at Reinvigorating Churches and Nonprofits

Workshop will identify ways to invigorate their church or organization by refocusing on and retooling the orig

Space is still available for leaders and members of churches and nonprofits to attend “Church Life:  Avoiding the Downside of the Organizational Life Cycle,” Saturday, September 26, at First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa.  Registration is at 9:30 am at the church, 1511 Church Street in Wauwatosa, with the program following from 10:00 am until 12 noon.

The session will trace the common life cycle of the successful church or nonprofit organization, beginning with mission-driven growth and development.  As the development of membership, programming and facilities reach a peak, organizations run the risk of putting their focus on management and organizational structure. The result can be boredom, complacency and decline in support. It’s a crisis point in the life of any organization.

Program presenter is Rev. Dr. Barry W. Szymanski, J.D., minister of pastoral care at First Congregational Church.  He will draw on his experience as business consultant and lawyer, studies in church administration, and the work of George Bullard, Jr., strategic leadership coach for congregational and denominational leaders.
