Young Rembrandts Honors Heroes in Milwaukee

With 30 incredible years of art enrichment and childhood development in communities nationwide, Young Rembrandts is celebrating the future of art education with a commitment to the true heroes in Wauwatosa: service members who commit their lives to keeping our communities safe so kids can learn transformative art education.

“We wouldn’t be able to provide the art classes we do without the security offered by local heroes every day and I am honored and excited to partner with the Tosa Fire Department to provide an event unlike any other,” said Don Eisenhauer, owner of Young Rembrandts serving Milwaukee. “We want our students to know the true heroes in our community, and we’re ready to show we love our hometown heroes with a special drawing class at the Tosa Fire Department to show our gratitude for their service.”

Young Rembrandts is showing its appreciation of Milwaukee’s service members by inviting the community to a free drawing event where students are welcome to participate in an art class alongside the local Tosa Fire Department heroes. Families are invited to the Wauwatosa Fire Station (1601 Underwood Ave, Wauwatosa) on Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to noon for a tour of the station and a drawing class with the firefighters.

The “We Love Our Hometown Heroes” event is part of a six-month celebration in which Young Rembrandts of Milwaukee will be giving back to the community through a collection of local partnerships and outreach programs.

“We want to show our gratitude not only to Wauwatosa for their support of our classes in schools and community centers in the area, but also for the local heroes who keep us safe and make Milwaukee such a wonderful place to run a business,” said Eisenhauer. “With ‘We Love Our Hometown Heroes,’ we want to show our community the level of dedication we feel for local residents, and our appreciation for the men and women who ensure a safe environment where our students are provided with the skills they need to succeed academically and in countless other areas of their life.”

Young Rembrandts offers art and drawing classes based on the belief that when foundational art skills are taught to preschoolers and elementary students, there is a strong correlation between that involvement in the arts and academic performance.
