2 Car Thefts Involved Unlocked, Running Cars: Police
Police say one car owner got out to use an ATM, leaving his vehicle running and unlocked. It was quickly stolen.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — The Whitefish Bay Police Department is asking residents to be mindful of leaving their vehicles running, after taking two reports of vehicle thefts recently.
According to Whitefish Bay police, the vehicles were both left running and unlocked.
Whitefish Bay police told Patch.com that one vehicle was stolen on Jan. 17 at 7:30 a.m. from the 400 block of E. Silver Spring Drive. The owner got out to use an ATM at that location, leaving his vehicle running and unlocked.

A second vehicle was stolen Thursday morning at 7:17 a.m. in the 4900 block N. Elkhart Ave. Police told Patch.com that a home resident was letting his vehicle warm up when it was taken.
