2 Vehicles Stolen Since July 6, Break-Ins Reported

Police in Whitefish Bay are advising the public to lock their doors and remove the keys from their vehicles.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI -- Police in Whitefish Bay are advising the public to lock their doors and remove the keys from their vehicles after officials say two vehicles have been stolen in the village since July 6.

When Whitefish Bay Patch reviewed police call logs through July 7 - the latest date available at publication time - we recorded one vehicle theft and two vehicle burglaries so far in July.

July 1:

Police took a report from a resident on the 4800 block of N. Sheffield Ave., who said a suspect entered their unlocked vehicle that had been parked in the home's driveway. Nothing was stolen, the report noted, though the car had been rummaged through.

July 2:

Just after 11 a.m. police received a complaint from a resident on the 1500 block of E. Cumberland Blvd. According to police, sometime overnight, a suspect entered an unlocked Volkswagen and an unlocked BMW parked in the driveway. The suspect stole four pairs of Rayban sunglasses, an iPad, a Nikon camera and $30 in cash.

July 6:

A resident on the 600 block of E. Carlisle Ave. told police that her black 2017 BMW X3 had been stolen from her driveway. According to police call logs, the resident's Ring doorbell captured video footage of the vehicle being taken at just after 3 a.m. on July 6 by a woman. The resident said one set of car keys had been left on either the front passenger seat or in a cup holder.
