Farmers' Markets aren't just for warm weather anymore. Come enjoy a Winter Farmers' Market and Brunch Saturday morning Jan 19th. The Farmers' Market will last from 9:30 - 1:00pm with the brunch from 9:30 - 11:00am in Fellowship Hall, found in the lower level of North Shore Congregational Church, 7330 N. Santa Monica Blvd. in Fox Point.
The brunch buffet will feature locally-sourced food prepared by talented volunteer parishoners. Products for sale at the market include woolen goods, farmstead soaps, cheese, produce, preserves, honey and meats. There also will be hot chili, snacks and beverages available, made with ingredients from the participating farms or fair trade vendors.
These markets provide small-scale farmers the chance to sell their products in off-season. The farmers supply ingredients for the brunches and are able to sell directly to those attending the meals. Farmers also help farmers by building connections with each other and by donating ten percent of sales to the Harvest of Hope emergency fund with 100% of the donations given to farmers in need.
