Car Theft Incident Reported in Whitefish Bay, Incidents On The Rise
Whitefish Bay police observed a car stolen right out of a driveway, and are alerting the public of multiple incidents in the area.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — Whitefish Bay police observed a car stolen right out of a driveway, and are alerting the public of multiple incidents in the area.
On Sep. 21, Whitefish Bay police responded to the 4700 block of N. Woodruff Ave on a report of a motor vehicle theft.
According to police reports, while officers were checking the area for suspects that were committing entry into vehicles in the area, a police Sergeant observed a black Toyota which had just been stolen out of a driveway on the same block fleeing eastbound on E. Hampton Rd.

Reports indicate that a police pursuit was initiated along with Shorewood Police and the UW-Milwaukee Police departments. The pursuit was terminated and the vehicle was reported last seen heading south on Terrace from Bradford.
The vehicle was officially reported stolen and the vehicle owner was woken up and apprised of the situation. According to reports, the vehicle had been unlocked with a spare key inside.

According to authorities, this incident is not the only one.
The North Shore communities including Whitefish Bay have seen a recent increase in motor vehicle thefts and thefts of items from motor vehicles. Please remember to remove the keys and FOB from your vehicle when parked and lock your car doors. Leaving exterior house lights on at night can also help prevent unwanted people from coming onto your property at night.
