SHARP Literacy, Inc. Art Education Quilt Designed by Students on Exhibit at Milwaukee Art Museum

Hundreds of first and second grade students from 10 Milwaukee-area schools participated in the study and creation of artwork included in the SHARP Literacy “Bee Quilt” scheduled to be unveiled at Milwaukee Art Museum (MAM) on May 23.  Drawn imagery from 600 creative, young students is incorporated into the 4-piece quilt which focuses on the seasonal nature of the “Life Cycle of Growing Things and Pollination,” and is based on both first grade science curriculum and SHARP Literacy’s “We Love To Learn Book” A Busy Bee: The Story of Bella the Honey Bee.  The “Bee Quilt” will be on exhibit at MAM May 23 – July 15, 2013.  For more information, call (414) 977-1768 or visit www.sharpliteracy.org
