Blue Duke Girls Take First, Boys Take Second in Cross Country Meet

Junior Nate Gomoll takes third overall to lead Whitefish Bay in its own invite.

The Bay Invite is the only home meet for the Whitefish Bay Cross Country team, and both the boys and girls teams rose to the occassion.

The girls were a resounding winner in their meet with 29 points, led by overall champion Emma Louise-Murphy (14:51). Joining her were Emma Fallone (4th, 15:51), Elise Hotz (5th, 15:51), Alana Blegen (9th, 16:00), Sara Coffey (10th, 16:02), Sydney Wellenstein (12th, 16:11) and Emily Garcia (24th, 17:05).

Whitefish Bay's boys finished second in the invite, which was held at Kletzsch Park in Glendale.

Nate Gomoll was third overall in 16:22 as the Blue Dukes tallied 90 points, well behind winner Wisconsin Lutheran, with 39. Also finishing for Whitefish Bay were Jordan Lester (14th, 17:11), Nick Hotz (23rd, 17:28), Andrew Searles (24th, 17:29), Sam Casey (26th, 17:33), Alex Hotz (40th, 18:00) and Eddie Pencak (41st, 18:00).

Before the meet, a ceremony was held in honor of former Whitefish Bay Middle School cross country coach Geoffrey Farnsworth, .
