POLICE BLOTTER, June 28: Power Outage; Caught with Pot; Dumpster Fire; Sendik's Theft

June 23

A noise ordinance violation was given to a contractor on the 5100 block of N. Kimbark Pl. after a contractor was running a stump grinder after 10 p.m. June 24 A young man found a bicycle that had been stolen from their family's garage a month ago. The bicycle, a Trek FX 7.2 was located locked to a bicycle rack on the 6200 block of N. Santa Monica Blvd. The lock was cut and the bike was taken to the Whitefish Bay Police Department. The family was notified over the return of their stolen bike.

Police stopped the driver of a silver Volkswagen in the 5300 block of N. Lake Drive on a report of a speed violation. The operator was taken into custody for operating a vehicle with a restricted controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Wires were reported down on the 4500 block of N. Oakland Ave. A resident nearby said he heard a loud bang and saw a light. Power was affected to numerous homes on Cramer.

A female suspect is accused of stealing $32 in items from Sendik's food market. The suspect told store employees she took the items because she was hungry, as she fled out the front door and got into a 1999 Dodge Durango.

There was a dumpster fire at the 700 block of E. Henry Clay St. that police assisted with traffic control.
