Police Blotter: Man With Gun; Auto Theft; Ten Dollar Fight at Breadsmith; Entry into Vehicle; Home Burglary

Aug. 14

Man With Gun
Police responded to the 5400 block of N. Lake drive on a report of a man with a gun swearing in the front yard of the house and slamming the door upon entry.
When police arrived they learned the subject was a teenager who was playing with an airsoft gun that resembled a 1911 Colt pistol.

Auto Theft
Police responded to the 5100 block of N. Kent Ave. for a vehicle theft in progress. One black male in the victim's black VW SUV took about $106 in cash, car keys and house keys without the owner's consent. A Honda Pilot was also reportedly taken.

Aug. 15

Looking for stolen vehicle
Police responded to the 4200 block of N. Ardmore to assist Shorewood in searching for a stolen Honda Pilot that was involved in an entry to a vehicle. An officer located a dumped purse in the 4000 block of N. Woodburn, which was determined to be from a separate entry to vehicle.

Ten Dollar Fight
Police responded to the Breadsmith after two employees had gotten into a physical altercation over an alleged $10 debt. The business manager stated that both subjects stopped fighting and left in separate vehicles and directions. He stated that both subjects will likely be fired.

Entry into Vehicle
A vehicle was broken into on the 5400 block of N. Santa Monica Blvd. Front passenger window and ignition damaged. Valued at $1000.00

Theft Complaint
Officers responded to the 500 block of E. Beaumont Ave. on a report of a theft. According to the report, someone broke into the resident's house and stole a hard drive from one of his computers in the basement. Items taken valued at $200.00
