Police Report: Stolen Vodka, Dog Dragged By Car

The latest reports from the Whitefish Bay Police Department.

A dog was dragged half a block by its leash on East Birch Avenue at 5 p.m. Nov. 14 when a car drove over her leash.

The animal’s owner, a 21-year-old Shorewood female, told police she was on one side of the street with her dog on the opposite side of the street when a car drove through and caught the retractable leash. Retractable leashes are not allowed in the village, per village ordinance.

  • A divided highway sign was knocked down at Carlisle Avenue and North Lake Drive at 7 p.m. Nov. 12 when a 50-year-old Whitefish Bay woman crossed the median from Calrlisle Avenue to North Lake Drive. Police say the accident was property damage only. 
  • An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for stealing vodka from CVS Pharmacy, 240 E. Hampton, at 7:30p.m. Tuesday. An employee watched the man take vodka from a shelf and conceal it before fleeing the scene. The subject was later found inside a car in the 4800 block of N. Santa Monica. The vehicle’s other occupant, a 22-year-old Milwaukee female, was cited for operating with a suspended license, and the man was taken into custody on a warrant through the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.
