Rash Of Burglaries Reported On N. Ardmore: Police

According to police reports, the suspects entered unlocked cars parked either in driveways or in unlocked garages.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI -- Whitefish Bay police say at least one suspect is responsible for a rash of break-ins on the 4900 block of N. Ardmore Ave. over the weekend.

According to police reports, the suspects entered unlocked garages, and cars parked either in driveways or in the garages to retrieve a number of small items, such as prescription medicine, spare change, garage door openers among others.

At just before 7 a.m. police responded to a home on the 4900 block of N. Ardmore Ave. on a report of a vehicle break-in. Police reported that sometime between 4 p.m. on March 30 and 6:50 a.m. on March 31, a suspect entered a home's unlocked garage door, rummaged through two vehicles parked inside, and stole about $25 in change from the two vehicles.

About an hour later, officers learned that another house on the same block of Ardmore had been visited by burglars. According to reports, a home resident down the block from the first report told police that sometime between 3 a.m. and 8:24 a.m. on March 31, a suspect entered the home's unlocked garage door and stole a Rad Powerbike electric bicycle valued at $1,500. The home owner also reported that the suspect also rummaged through an unlocked silver Jeep that was parked in the driveway as well as taking an unlocked white BMI X5 that was left inside the garage. The bicycle was found in the front yard of a home on the 4700 block of N. Sheffield.

At just after 10 a.m., officers were called back to Ardmore Ave. on a report that someone on the same block had a suspect rummage through two unlocked vehicles in their driveway. Police said some spare change was stolen, as well as 15 20 mg Adderall pills that were stored in one of the vehicles.

Officers also fielded a report from a fourth resident on N. Ardmore Ave. just after 11:30 a.m. from the same block on a report that a suspect entered an unlocked Mazda 3 that was parked in the driveway sometime overnight. Police reported that the only item that was missing was a Liftmaster garage door opener.
