Robbery Suspect Charged With Marijuana Possession

A Whitefish Bay man is facing drug charges after he was arrested in Milwaukee on suspicion of being involved in a robbery.

Scott Lee Sanford Jr., 27, was originally sought by Whitefish Bay police in connection with a strong arm robbery at at 303 E. Hampton Road on Monday. A gas station employee stated that a subject threatened to beat him and took $454 in cash from the register, according to police reports.

On Tuesday, Whitefish Bay police arrested Sanford in the 5700 block of North 39^th Street in Milwaukee. Although there was insufficient evidence to charge Sanford in the robbery, officers discovered marijuana in his front pocket.

Sanford was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Friday with one count of possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. If convicted, he faces up to six months in prison and $1,000 in fines.

He’s currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail while awaiting trial.
