Traffic Stop Turns Into Drug Charges In Whitefish Bay: Report

Police say a driver and passenger were cited after the vehicle they were traveling in failed to stop for a red light.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — Police in Whitefish Bay say a routine traffic violation turned into drug charges.

According to Whitefish Bay police call logs, an officer on patrol on the morning of May 25 stopped a vehicle in the 4700 block of N. Marlborough Drive for failing to stop for a red light.

Police say the driver, a 45-year-old Illinois main, was taken into custody for operating a vehicle while intoxicated - first offense. Police also said a 40-year-old woman was cited for possession of marijuana after 6.8 grams of marijuana were recovered during a search by police.
