Traffic Stop Turns Into Multiple Drug Citations in Whitefish Bay

According to police, the driver, a 26-year-old man from Madison, was found to be in possession of multiple drug types.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI -- Authorities in Whitefish Bay say a routine traffic stop for speeding turned into multiple drug citations on the night of June 9.

According to Whitefish Bay police call logs, a police sergeant on patrol near the 5000 block of N. Lake Drive stopped a maroon Mini Cooper just before 12:30 a.m. on June 9 for speeding.

Police said the vehicle's driver was later arrested during the course of the stop after the officer detected that the driver may have been under the influence of drugs while behind the wheel.

According to police, the driver, a 26-year-old man from Madison, was found to be in possession of three ecstacy pills, two-and-a-half grams of marijuana, in addition to a grinder and pipe.

The driver was transported to the local jail and was later released.
