'Unholy' Milwaukee Scammer Pretends To Be Priest: Report

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — Police in Whitefish Bay say an unholy phone scammer is pretending to be a Catholic priest.

According to the Whitefish Bay Police Department, investigators have taken reports of a scam where a scammer is contacting Milwaukee Catholic Archdiocese parishioners and pretending to be Father Timothy Kitzke.

Police say the suspect will request someone to purchase gift cards and send photographs of the gift cards and pin numbers to a cell phone number.

Whitefish Bay police say they've made contact with Father Tim, who told investigators that he is not requesting anyone to purchase gift cards on his behalf.

Police are asking members of the public to be vigilant when receiving unsolicited calls from solicitors.
