Whitefish Bay Burglary Wave Reported

A burglary wave left multiple residents with cut screen doors, missing home items, missing cars and more questions than answers.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI -- A burglary wave in Whitefish Bay - all between the evening of Aug. 18 and into the early morning hours of Aug. 19 left multiple residents with cut screen doors, missing home items, missing cars and more questions than answers.

Police in Whitefish Bay are investigating a burglary that took place on the 5200 block of N. Berkeley Blvd.

According to police reports, officers responded to the home just before 4 a.m. on Aug. 19 after a person called police, reporting that their house had been broken into.

Reports indicated that the suspect or suspects involved cut a window screen on the house, entered the property, stole a garage door opener and made off with multiple vehicles.

According to reports, police questioned residents in the area, who reported seeing the suspect in the stolen vehicle, however officers were unable to locate the suspects.

A couple of hours later, officers were called to the 5200 block of N. Diversey Blvd. on a report of another burglary. According to reports, sometime between midnight and 6:30 a.m., a suspect cut the screen on their porch door and stole a Samsung television valued at $500.

Other reports from Aug. 19 include:

A resident on the 600 block of Lexington reported seeing someone on his home security camera trying to open his car door just after 3 a.m. The resident said the suspect couldn't open the door because it was locked, and moved on.

A resident on the 5300 block of N. Shoreland Ave. said that a suspect entered their home through an unlocked back door and took a laptop computer and a purse from the kitchen table sometime between 11 p.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 19.

A person called police just after 11 a.m. on Aug. 19 on a report that someone entered their unlocked Toyota SUV and stole his garage door opener to a home on the 4600 block of N. Woodruff Ave.

Residents in the 400 blocks, 500 block, 600 block and 700 block of E. Henry Clay St. reported vehicle break-ins - each happening sometime between the late night of Aug. 18 and early morning of Aug. 19.
