Whitefish Bay Receives CAFR Award

Only 60 municipalities statewide received the award putting Whitefish Bay among the top six percent of its peers.

From the Village of Whitefish Bay: For the first time, the Village of Whitefish Bay received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment

Whitefish Bay Finance Director Jen Amerell stated, "It is an honor to receive the CAFR award for the first time. Only 60 municipalities statewide received the award putting Whitefish Bay among the top six percent of its peers for excellence in financial reporting. An impartial panel judged the CAFR to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the CAFR.
