Today's riddle: I'm a rock group with 4 members; one member was assassinated. What am I? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Natrona County residents split on a potential multi-million-dollar A.I. data center (wyomingpublicmedia.org) — Natrona County residents packed a recent commissioners meeting to debate a proposed $500 million Prometheus AI data center on Falls Ranch between Casper and Glenrock. Supporters tout new jobs and economic growth, while opponents fear permanent damage to Wyoming's landscape, and commissioners say any final vote on bypassing state siting and zoning decisions is still months away.
2. NCSO conducts sex offender compliance check, makes 2 arrests in Operation Jessica (oilcity.news) — Natrona County deputies just completed a three‑day sweep of 229 registered sex offenders across the county, including those living in and around Casper, resulting in two arrests for non‑compliance. Residents can look up offenders near their homes and sign up for email alerts through the Wyoming Sex Offender Registry, a tool local law enforcement urges Casper families to use.
3. Casper Honor Student Pleads Not Guilty To Shooting Up Downtown In Showdown (cowboystatedaily.com) — A 16-year-old honor student has pleaded not guilty to seven felony charges tied to a July shootout that sprayed 30–40 rounds through downtown Casper near David Street Station and the Jeffree Star store. Prosecutors and defense attorneys sparred over a $100,000 bond and whether the case belongs in juvenile court, while Casper Police say their complex investigation remains active and more charges are possible.
4. 1 pound each of suspected meth, cocaine seized in traffic stop near Casper (oilcity.news) — A major drug bust just outside Casper led to the seizure of over a pound each of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine during a Wyoming Highway Patrol traffic stop on I-25. A 31-year-old man was arrested, faces distribution charges in Natrona County Circuit Court, and is being held on $50,000 cash-only bond while a preliminary hearing is pending.
5. Public Notice #12159 - Platte County Record-Times (pcrecordtimes.com) — A Platte County probate filing details how real estate in Glendo will be distributed following the death of Orval Orlando Kludy, who lived in Casper. Several heirs with Casper and Evansville addresses have assigned or disclaimed their interests, clearing the way for ownership to pass to Jackie R. Waggener under Wyoming's simplified distribution procedure.
