Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray, writing from Cheyenne, urged city leaders not to obstruct the statutory referendum process and to let residents decide whether the annexation moves forward.
2. Greater Cheyenne Greenway Fall Cleanup scheduled for September (wyomingnews.com) — Cheyenne residents are invited to help clean the Greater Cheyenne Greenway during the fall cleanup running Sept. 5–27, with four trail segments still open for adoption. Volunteers are asked to wear sturdy clothing, can request bags and gloves, and should contact city Greenway staff when their section is finished so crews can collect trash.
3. $25K Meta grant buys STEM books for young Cheyenne Children's Clinic visitors (capcity.news) — Families using the Cheyenne Children's Clinic can now take home free STEM-focused books, thanks to a $25,000 Meta grant routed through the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation. The Reading is Key program is expanding to ages 6–12, putting thousands of engaging science and engineering titles directly into local kids' hands during checkups and hospital visits.
4. PREP TENNIS: Central teams split duals with Sheridan (wyomingnews.com) — Cheyenne Central's girls tennis squad notched a strong 4–1 win over Sheridan, while the boys narrowly fell 3–2 in their dual. Cheyenne East's girls split results, winning both singles but losing the dual 3–2, and the East boys team were swept 5–0, giving local fans an early look at this season's form.
