2. Cheyenne considering code updates to protect agricultural rights of newly-annexed landowners (capcity.news) — Cheyenne officials are moving toward major updates to city codes that would clarify what kinds of farming, animal harvesting, agritourism, and even electric fencing are allowed inside city limits, especially on newly annexed ranch land. If adopted this fall, the rules could protect existing agricultural uses, expand home gardens and small livestock, and tightly regulate large feeding or slaughter operations. 3. Truck Convoy for Special Olympics coming back to Cheyenne (wyomingnews.com) — Big rigs will roll from the WYDOT yard on Bishop Boulevard Sept. 19, convoying through Cheyenne to raise money for Special Olympics Wyoming athletes. Locals can cheer along the route, while truckers can register, donate, and enjoy meals and fellowship with athletes and law enforcement.
4. 'Championship of Champions' Indian horse relay race comes to Cheyenne for first time Sept. 25–27 (capcity.news) — Indian Relay's 10th annual Championship of Champions is coming to Cheyenne's Frontier Park Arena Sept. 25–27, bringing top teams from 15 tribal nations to town. Residents can watch this high-intensity, tradition-rich horse relay championship and buy tickets online, with Cheyenne now hosting the sport's biggest event for the first time.
5. Barrasso announces Cheyenne native as new legislative director (wyomingnews.com) — A Cheyenne Central High School graduate, Erin Dempsey, has been named U.S. Sen. John Barrasso's new legislative director, putting a hometown Wyoming voice at the center of his policy agenda. Dempsey, a nationally recognized health care policy expert, will oversee Barrasso's entire legislative portfolio, while former director Amber Bland moves to a senior role at the U.S. Department of Energy.
