Wyoming District Breaks Ground on New Elementary School -- Spaces4Learning (spaces4learning.com) — Families in Cheyenne's Laramie County School District #1 can look ahead to a new 92,500-square-foot Mountain View Elementary School serving fifth- and sixth-graders by summer 2028. The Cheyenne-based campus will feature flexible learning clusters, warm design elements, and enhanced security. It's a key step in the district's long-term plan to modernize buildings and shift existing elementaries to K–4 use.
   

2. Laramie County Library rolling out community-designed cards for Library Card Sign-up Month (capcity.news) — Cheyenne-area residents can celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month with brand-new, community-designed Laramie County Library cards and a free glass tumbler while supplies last. A card now unlocks far more than books, from Wi-Fi hotspots and Wyoming State Parks passes to birding backpacks and health kits. New and renewing cardholders can choose from four winning local art designs selected by community vote.
   

3. Wyoming's Musical Smith Twins First Met Dolly Parton At Cheyenne Frontier Days (cowboystatedaily.com) — Cheyenne-raised twin musicians Annie and Amy Smith are remembering how Dolly Parton shaped their careers, from first meeting her at Cheyenne Frontier Days to later encounters in Nashville. One sister still lives in Cheyenne, where the duo recently performed at the nation's 250th birthday celebration with the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra. Their memories highlight how Parton's example influenced both their music and business decisions.
   

4. Wyoming Department of Education launches statewide needs assessment survey (wyomingnews.com) — Cheyenne-based state education officials are asking Wyoming families, schools, and community groups to complete a short online survey that will shape future funding for after-school and summer programs. Responses, due by Oct. 1, will help determine where 21st Century Community Learning Centers grants and support go across the state, so Cheyenne parents and educators are urged to weigh in.
   

5. WDOC announces first cohort of graduates from Wyoming Women's Center (wyomingnews.com) — From Cheyenne, state corrections officials are celebrating the first group of women at the Wyoming Women's Center to earn bachelor's degrees through a University of Wyoming partnership. The program, launched in 2022, is already expanding to other prisons and is credited with improving public safety, reducing recidivism, and opening new job prospects for returning citizens statewide.
