Today's riddle: How do billboards talk? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Black Hills to build 564 MW of new gas, manage 2.1 GW microgrid for Google data center in Wyoming (power-eng.com) — Cheyenne is set to host a massive Google data center powered by 564 MW of new natural gas generation and a 2.1 GW privately managed microgrid at Black Hills Corp.'s Cheyenne Prairie Generating Station. Google will cover project costs, while Black Hills expects significant long-term returns and says existing utility customers should be shielded from expenses, even as critics question the plan's reliance on new gas-fired power.
2. 'Most Wanted' felon found after hiding in basement (capcity.news) — Laramie County deputies arrested a woman on the sheriff's "Most Wanted" list after finding her hiding in the basement of a home on the 5000 block of Hickory Place in Cheyenne. Detectives confirmed she was living there, used loudspeaker announcements, then breached the residence and deployed gas before taking her into custody on a felony forgery warrant and interference charge.
3. PREP VOLLEYBALL: No. 1 Kelly Walsh sweeps Central (wyomingnews.com) — Cheyenne volleyball fans saw mixed results, with No. 5-ranked Cheyenne Central swept on the road by top-ranked Kelly Walsh, while Cheyenne East battled back for a five-set win at Sheridan. Pine Bluffs rallied past Sundance in a five-set thriller, and Cheyenne South fell in straight sets to Campbell County, giving local supporters a clear picture of how area teams are stacking up.
4. 'Sexually Transmitted Diarrhea' Superbug In Colorado, Moving Closer To Wyoming (cowboystatedaily.com) — A Cheyenne Regional Medical Center physician is warning that an extensively drug-resistant strain of Shigella, already spreading in Colorado, could pose growing risks for Wyoming residents. Experts from Cheyenne and the University of Wyoming explain how this highly contagious intestinal infection spreads, why some antibiotics are failing, and what simple steps locals can take to protect themselves.
5. Break-in and vandalism leaves one family "heartbroken" and "angry" (wyomingnewsnow.tv) — A family returning to their RV at Speedway Storage in Cheyenne found it broken into, vandalized, and missing items, and they believe other vehicles there have also been hit. They say they received no warning from the facility, while Laramie County authorities are reviewing records and the company has referred questions to its corporate office.
