Vehicle Fire Jams Traffic On I-10 Through Beaumont

BEAUMONT, CA — A vehicle that caught fire Friday along westbound Interstate 10 in Beaumont has traffic backed up in the area.

The blaze, reported at 11:40 a.m. as an RV fire, was on the righthand shoulder of the freeway near Beaumont Avenue/state Route 79, according to a preliminary California Highway Patrol report.

Lane closures were in effect and traffic was backed up to 8th Street.

A fire also broke out near UC Riverside Friday, which clogged traffic on I-215.

The fires follow a 104-acre blaze Thursday afternoon in the Badlands that delayed motorists on the 60 Freeway.
