Mountain Biker Found Dead in Park Near Hayward Identified

The 51-year-old went missing after leaving his Fremont home for a bike ride at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A mountain biker found dead 150 feet down a hillside in Dry Creek Pioneer Regional Park near Hayward Wednesday morning has been identified as George Phillip Kramm. Kramm, 51, went missing after leaving his Fremont home for a bike ride at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday but did not return home.

His wife reported him missing at 10:15 p.m., according to the East Bay Regional Park District. Search and rescue crews from the park district and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office found Kramm at about 8 a.m. Wednesday 150 feet down a hillside off the High Ridge Loop Trail, about two miles from the trailhead where he had parked.

Investigators do not suspect foul play but the county coroner’s bureau has not yet determined his cause of death.
